This article implies that the NAACP Legal Defense Fund investigation concluded that he was guilty. In fact the NAACP Legal Defense Fund investigation raised doubts about his guilt, leading to the state to once again investigate and after 24 months, find that they could shoot holes in the NAACP investigation and concluded there wasn't new reason to conclude he was innocent.
