I'm sorry but the picture of the thermometer as a way to show that winter temperatures are mild is pretty stupid and quite unnecessary. --Kevin Sharp 00:32, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Would anyone mind if I move the Littlefoeld reference to the timeline and removed the comment, "best known for?"

I like the opensource line. I should have thought of it.

[edit] Oh, ghod; I've started something...
I like the pictures. :-) Is it time to start the "City Page Photos Wikiproject"?
--Baylink 23:47, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks. I would love to contribute to a City Page Project Mikereichold 00:37, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
I need advice. Are their too many links, particularly at the end?
Should the timeline move to a second page?

Is there a problem with bias in favor of Mayor Feaster and Barbara Murphy?

[edit] Moved from my user talk
Largo, Florida I've been adding to the Largo, Florida page and I'm concerned with all the external links I've added. Is it possible to have too many? I also wonder if the timeline should have a page of his own. Could you take a loo at it?
Thanks,
Mikereichold 02:03, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
I think it is possible to have too many. What I would expect in this section would be official city sites and the largest and most influential companies in the city. In general, things that contribute to the city of Largo, Florida. Things that would be confusing to the general public could use a little note afterwards like "Nationwide company that originated in Largo", etc... The questionable ones to me are: Pinch a Penny: I also live in the Tampa Bay area so I know Pinch a Penny is a big deal but it looks like it originated in Clearwater, Florida, not Largo. Is that true? Paradyne: I've never heard of this company and their website is very slow. It looks like it's being acquired. Is there something that differentiates this from any other telecom hardware manufacturer? Your picture site: You have fantastic pictures. I'd recommend pulling your pictures into Wikipedia and putting them on the Largo page itself — and taking out the link to your site. Having the link to your site might qualify as vanity which is frowned on. Dozens and dozens of people in Largo could do the same thing if they wanted. County maps: These need to be moved to the county articles instead of Largo. Clearwater Central: Not sure this is appropriate at all since it's a for-profit web site. If it is appropriate, it needs to be moved to the Clearwater article. The timeline seems small enough to keep in the same page but you might want to move it to a different part of the article. External Links are usually right near the bottom. It could probably be cleaned up a little too. Those are my opinions... wknight94 03:10, 15 December 2005 (UTC) Thanks. I agree completely. I'm a little leery of removing things I did not add. Perhaps I should get over that. Thanks Mikereichold 03:13, 15 December 2005 (UTC) Oh, I didn't notice who added which ones. I whacked the Clearwater Central one for you! :) I left Paradyne since it's apparently a decent-sized employer. I'd still recommend looking for something to distinguish that company from others HQ'ed in Largo. wknight94 03:26, 15 December 2005 (UTC) Other than what's mention above, The links are quality links, although the "Old Hillsborough" map link should go on the Pinellas County page :). Great work! --Moreau36; 0317, 16 December 2005 (UTC) [edit] wknight 94 suggestions I agree.

[edit] Brookie here Thanks for the note - to be honest I don't know the answer to your question try posting the question here - this usually gets a knowledgable answer. Merry Xmas! Brookie :) - a collector of little round things! (Talk!) 07:51, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hello! Hi Mike. I've had a read through Largo, Florida - I can see that you've made some valuable additions there! I made a couple of very minor copy edits myself, and I can see that your involvement in the article has also encouraged other edits to work on the article. And that's what it's all about!
Unfortunately I don't know anything about The Black Company and I don't know anyone else who does - I just spotted one of your edit on the "recent changes" list and added the stub tag. The article's talk page is a good place to start, but I can see that you've already posted there. Have you tried looking up related articles (e.g. Glen Cook)? The Glen Cook talk page has a link through to a Glen Cook wiki - I reckon that would be a good way to find an expert.
Pages can only be locked against editing if there's a serious vandalism problem there. Administrators' user pages are probably more prone to vandalism, as they are more likely to give vandals warnings in the first place (the user-page vandalism then tends to come as a childish retaliation). If you add your user page to your watch list, you can quickly see if someone starts meddling with it. If someone does vandalise your page, you'll just have to rise above it and not take it personally! In fact, you could even take it as a bizarre complement - it means someone out there is taking an interest in you!!
So, I hope you've been enjoying your Wikying so far - keep it up! It can be addictive, though, so don't forget to keep some time for the real world! ;) Regards, CLW 12:24, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Stanton's dismissal
I'm not sure how to work this into the article, but it's probably worth mentioning. Perhaps it could be added to the paragraph about all the wonderful things Largo has done to commit to being a "City of Progress." —Captaindan 14:34, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure Steve's firing is significant enough to include in the main article. I'll put it in the Timeline_of_Largo_history after I calm down. Gotta retain my NPOV. Cheers, :) MikeReichold 15:00, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that it is the most significant thing about Largo right now and likely will be until the news media has hat it's fill of this story. The City of Progress is likely to be looked at as reactionary until this matter is settled. --Bgfay 16:31, 1 March 2007 (UTC)bgfay
- I agree, it's the most notable thing about Largo at this time, and belongs in the article. — coelacan talk — 20:12, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Arrgh . . . This is worse than the nursing home fire. This is not the sort of thing I wanted Largo to be known for. Sorry y'all, my NPOV is pretty well shot right now! Good job on the Stanton article and the other addes people are, making here, related articles and on the timeline00:10, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Removed what I see as POV. However, I have a WP:COI here and it would be best if someone else went over this article. Cheers, :) MikeReichold 17:21, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Location map
Largo's current boundaries now extend further to the east than shown. How can we update this? Cheers, Dlohcierekim 14:44, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
