Talk:Large Seal Script

However, these Zhòuwén or Zhòu graphs are merely examples of that script...
Which "...script..."?
... it is not correct to refer to the ca. 800 BC Zhoū (周) dynasty script as Zhòuwén. Similarly, the Zhòu graphs are merely examples of large seal script when that term is used in a broad sense.
The specificity is extremely confusing.68.148.164.166 (talk) 09:51, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the comments. I have pretty much completely rewritten the page in an attempt to simplify and clarify it. This is a particularly difficult topic because the understanding of modern scholars such as those referenced does conflict with the popular misconceptions of the terms involved and the evolution of the scripts. I'm sure I understand the topic well, but had some trouble explaining it in a way that would be clear to those who had only been exposed to the popular misconceptions. I hope this newer version is better. Please do give me your feedback. Dragonbones (talk) 16:04, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
