Talk:Large Scale Concept Ontology for Multimedia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
My first article ... surprised to see a "speedy deletion" candidacy notice appear as soon as I created a redirect page ("LSCOM" is a known (try Googling it) initialism for "Large Scale Concept Ontology for Multimedia"). If I read the notice right, apparently the article doesn't assert the importance of the subject. I'm not sure what the criteria for having successfully done that is; however, I would argue that this is a US-government funded project to create a standard vocabulary for video annotation and that there is evidence of research in Europe that makes use of this work is something of a testament to some level of importance. The article--again, to be clear, I wrote it--seems to make these points clear. Any advice from veterans is appreciated! Best, JDTejas
