Larry Tanz is an entertainment industry executive.
Tanz served four years as CEO and President of LivePlanet, the entertainment company founded by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. He oversaw strategy and operations, as well as key projects for the company. He led the company through its only four years of profitability. Tanz joined LivePlanet during the startup phase in late summer 2000 from AOL Time Warner, where he was Director of Strategy and Operations. At AOL Time Warner, he was a founder of Netscape Netbusiness. Before joining AOLTW he was a Senior Associate at Mercer Management Consulting (now named Oliver Wyman), where he helped Fortune 100 clients develop and implement new products and strategies.[1]
Tanz co-founded a charity in 2006 with partners Matt Damon, Keith Quinn, and Marc Joubert which later became known as H2O Africa Foundation.[2]
He was also on the staff of the Harvard Lampoon.
