Dorsey was the head coach at Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi from 1990 to the end of the 1998 season. While at MVS, he accumulated a record of 37 wins, 54 losses, and 3 ties.[1][2]

[edit] Prairie View A&M

Dorsey's next move was to be named the 21st head coach for the Prairie View A&M University Panthers located in Prairie View, Texas and he held that position for three seasons, from 2000 until 2002. His coaching record at Prairie View was 5 wins, 27 losses, and 0 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him 12th at Prairie View in total wins and 17th at Prairie View in winning percentage (0.156).[3][4] He resigned after his fifth season.[5]

Dorsey played at Tennessee State University as a wide receiver under head coach John Merritt. He was honored as an All-American for the 1974 and 1975 seasons.[6]

In 1976, Dorsey was picked in the third round (64th overall) by the San Diego Chargers.[7] He played for the Charges for two years, then went to the Kansas City Chiefs for his third and final year in the NFL.[8]
