Larry Bowler was a Republican politician from the State of California. He represented suburban Sacramento in the California State Assembly from 1992 until 1998.

[edit] Pre Political Career

Bowler was in the Sacramento County Sheriff's office, rising to the rank of lieutenant, for thirty years prior to becoming an assemblyman.

[edit] 1988 Election

Bowler originally made an unsuccessful run for the state assembly in 1988, losing to then Assemblyman Phil Isenberg by a margin of 57% to 43%. More than 1.3 million dollars was spent on the race.

Bowler has been very involved in the anti gay marriage movement in California since his departure from the legislature.
