Larkspur Landing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Larkspur Landing is the main Golden Gate Ferries terminal in Larkspur, Marin County, California. The terminal is a regional hub receiving heavy feeder service from throughout the North Bay for commuter ferries to downtown San Francisco.
A proposed rail system similar to Caltrain has been proposed to terminate at this terminal or at a new replacement terminal in San Quentin to ease traffic gridlock along Highway 101. It would terminate at the landing and then serving as in intermodal station passengers would then transfer to San Francisco bound ferries.
Larkpur Landing rose from the ashes of the long demolished Hutchinson's Rock Quarry. The quarry property also spawned the Larkspur Landing Shopping Center, with adjacent apartments and office space.
