[edit] Heroes/Isaac's power

While I understand what you were attempting to convey, the fact is that 'aid' means helps but can be done without, and 'induced' means brought on the event. We've had this issue before on the page. Some editors are anti-drug, and have let that color their editing on the matter. Other editors cite Peter Petrelli's ability to paint the future without drug use. Both have been put behidn us. The consensus, time after time is that until Isaac paints WITHOUT the drugs, he NEEDS the drugs. His own statements support this. Rely on HIS statements over those of his kidnapper/'helpers'. That said, please keep working on the page. Just be prepared for minor reversions. ThuranX 03:09, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wiki-etiquette

Finally, as a note of etiquette, do NOT edit another User's USER PAGE, only his/her TALK PAGE. ThuranX 03:11, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Placing a space between words should hardly be a hanging offence... laonoodlekeemow 03:51, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

One more note: One, it's not a big deal, I didn't revert it, so don't worry. second, I recommend you re-instate the welcome message yu were left. That text includes links to a number of wikipolicies and wikiguidelines. Those will probably be quite useful in you developing a strong wiki-editing 'career'. ThuranX 03:47, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I read those post before I ever signed up for an account. But, thanks you for your concern. laonoodlekeemow 03:52, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

You seem possessed of an exceedingly short patience. I made QUITE clear the positions of the editors on the page as related to Isaac's powers. If you took the time to look through the talk page topics, and the archives, you'd see that the position, as I explained it, is one that we've come to over LONG LONG debate. For you to engage in tendentious editing in the hopes of getting your way while being at best, prickly, and at worst, actually incivil, is not a recommended course of action. Please, go read the talk page. Look in the archives. There is a great deal of discussion there about this issue. Until such time as Isaac himself demonstrates his ability sans drugs, it should stay 'drug-induced'. That's the consensus, reached by long discussion. Either engage in the discussion, and present some reasons why, or accept that your edit will be reverted out. ThuranX 04:00, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I looked at the archives and there hardly seems to be any conclusive agreement. Any objective assesment would conclude that 'aided' is more easily demonstrated than 'induced' this coupled with the text of the most recent episode seem enough to include 'aided' over 'induced.' Furthermore, why would a charcter's statements about their abilities be considered the most gospel of statements? laonoodlekeemow 04:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Especially when that character is a junkie. WookMuff 10:40, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re: whiney editors

hehe some people, man, i tell ya. Aid vs Induce, but they get into such a tizzy. Try explaining definitions and they will just power on by without understanding. Not to be insulting to any editors, my word no. Just... you know... commiserating :) WookMuff 10:38, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, nice. That's not only incivility, but a personal attack. Don't let the continued conversation on the talk page get in the way of a PA. ThuranX 02:57, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
What? A personal attack would surely include some kind of naming of the person being attacked. Where in WP:CIVIL does it say that commiserating with an editor about a certain kind of editor, not even naming names, who do something disagreeable, is uncivil? also, "It should be noted that some editors deliberately push others to the point of breaching civility, without committing such a breach themselves." hmm, curious. [edit] Children of Men

The term "fugees", in this context, is the correct term for "refugees", in both the book, the script, and the film. It was explained earlier in the text and is used appropriately. This has nothing to do with hip-hop. —Viriditas | Talk 10:34, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
