- While I think the removal was appropriate, I think so for different reasons than Kim Dent-Brown. The term "The Old Religion" is based on assertions that Wicca's roots go back to the Paleolithic, making it significantly older than any of the Abrahamic religions. Even though there is absolutely no way to document this assertion, it is part of the Wiccan Mythos, so to speak, among some Wiccans. The fact that the Bible makes reference to Christianity/Judaism as "the old religion" does not bear on the appropriateness of using the epithet for Wicca.
