Happy editing!

[edit] License tagging for Image:HPIM1450.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:HPIM1450.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:06, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ecuadorian hermit crab

Please stop adding this image to the article ([1][2][3]). The image you keep replacing is infinitely better than this blurred photo. --Stemonitis 09:01, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:HPIM1450.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:HPIM1450.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. — Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 20:33, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Iams

Please can you refrain from including nonencyclopaedic information in wikipedia articles. Whilst you may not agree with Iams as a company, there is no point in posting

recent press releases concerning contaminants in food,
ingredients of specific products or
removing encyclopaedic content.

If you wish to contribute to the article, please refer to the wikipedia guidelines including WP:NOT. Any further alterations that do not conform to these guidelines will be treated as vandalism.

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Iams, you will be blocked from editing. You have repeatedly put opinion in this article, and it needs to stop. -FeralDruid 22:49, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please Use Edit Summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Jmlk17 07:51, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Skinny pig

I saw your comments on the talk page of Skinny Pig so I thought you might know a bit about them. Do you know if the gene defect is known for this strain? Cheers Sad mouse 15:37, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Hermit crab association

A tag has been placed on Hermit crab association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. VivioFateFan (Talk, Sandbox) 06:20, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] October 2007

This is the last warning you will receive for your intelligent edits.
The next time you vandalism Wikipedia, as you did to Hermit crab association, you will be blocked from editing. Please do not create articles with the {{hangon}} tag. Toddst1 22:10, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. I would just like to remind you in a friendly way not to remove the information header at the Wikipedia sandbox, and other sandboxes, or make any other inappropriate edits. You are free to test your editing skills there but please follow the instructions stated on the page. Good luck with your editing and thank you for your co-operation. VivioFateFan (Talk, Sandbox) 03:50, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, articles should not be moved without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. [edit] Explaining vandalism: {{hangon}}

The reason I called your edit vandalism is that you created a new page that contained a {{hangon}} tag. Those should only be added if the page is tagged for speedy deletion and you are actively contesting the deletion on the discussion page with a meaningful explanation. Putting one in as a preventative measure when you creat the article makes the job of the folks who patrol new pages harder and is inappropriate. Vandals do this frequently. I see why you may be surprised by the description if you weren't familiar with the restriction. Nevertheless, it is a frequent form of vandalism. Happy editing and please don't take it personally. Toddst1 14:24, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
