The source given here are splitters (rather than lumpers). Anyone want to argue dialect vs. language, go ahead. More on relations, how many speakers, etc. would be good. Vicki Rosenzweig

I'm confused as to the difference between this page and Occitan. Are they identical? The lede seems to imply it. Should they be combined? -- ESP 05:24 19 Jul 2003 (UTC)

Languedocien is a branch/dialect of Occitan, along with Provençal, Gascon and a couple of others. I'll try to fix the lede. -- Cjmnyc 06:08 19 Jul 2003 (UTC)
