[edit] Lane as pro-slavery in intro
I'm wondering about the mention of Lane's pro-slavery stance in the intro. It was added by an anon a long time ago: diff. Of course as a schoolkid growing up in Lane County, nobody ever told me the political ideals of Lane, but I'm not sure that's the most relevent thing to mention about him in the intro unless it's in turn relevent to the naming of the county? Of course such a fact should not be *ahem* whitewashed, but on the other hand, I'm wondering if the addition of this fact is being used to to try to prove some point? Thoughts?
