[edit] Factual clarification

It says here that Bill Finger created Lana Lang in 1950, but it seems Bill Finger did not start writing for the Superman series till 1959. Apparently Schwartz was the sole write in that period. Can someone verify? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sankarson (talkcontribs) 04:02, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Native American

Hi. Does anyone know when they said Lana's dad was a native american? I can't remember it, and it certainly wasn't in skinwalker, which might have been the perfect time to put it in. More over, Henry Small doesn't really look that Native American. However, it might just be my memory, or it might be in season five (we in the UK are behind the US and Canada, so I might just not have seen it yet). I'll continue to look through my DVD collection, but if anyone has any info about this, could you put it down?

As I can find nothing to back up the comment that Lana is native american on her father's side anywhere else i consider it POV, and will take it down in 24 hours, unless someone has infomation that the comment is ture.

The Halo ( talk) 14:47, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

I assume you're referring to "Smallville"; her father (like herself) is Caucasian in the actual comics. Anthony Dean 16:48, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

Yes, i am. Sorry, i forgot to put that in. The Halo (talk) 18 07, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

I have now removed the part about "Smallville" Lana being native american. The Halo (talk) 18:17, 27 February 2006

I note that the Native American stuff in the Smallville Lana section was put back in and i have yet again taken it out. Anyone who knows if she is native american and can prove it, please state so here. The Halo (talk) 14:58, 4 May 2006 UTC

I have no personal knowledge of Smallville but a seach on the term led me to a page discussing various versions of Lana Lang. According to it:

"In the 2000s television series Smallville, Lana, played by Kristin Kreuk, is again the (often forbidden) love interest of the young Clark Kent, with at least some of each episode devoted to their potentially developing relationship. Kreuk has long, dark hair and is part-Chinese, part-Dutch. In this show, this characteristic is explained by saying that Lana is Native American on her father's side, unlike the previous depictions of Lana. Lana's historical ancestry on her maternal side included a French witch whose vengeful spirit later returned to possess her (named Countess Margaret Isobel Theroux). "

Our own article on Kristin Kreuk notes that "Her father, Peter Kreuk, is of Dutch ancestry and her mother, Deanna Che, is of Chinese ancestry but born in Indonesia" and links to the Indonesian Chinese article for further information on her maternal ancestry. User:Dimadick

Looks like that text was copied into this Wiki article, probably a copyright vio. CovenantD 13:31, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Phil Noto image?

Does anyone know the issue title, number and date was for where the Phil Noto image on the page appeared? Should be labeled with this info, IMO (especially since IIRC it was already deleted once). Anthony Dean 01:36, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

The Phil Noto image is from the VS System collectible card game. Lana Lang is a character card from the Man of Steel Expansion to that game. The source image is available at Phil Noto's Website. - Ericlui 22:28, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lana's Baby

I think that the baby Lana's carrying in Smallville may possibly be Clark's. In recent spoilers, they've even stated that she will find out something about her baby in an upcoming new episode. So, the fact that the baby she's carrying may possibly be Clark's needs to be added to the article. Son of Kong

The article shouldn't include speculation of any kind. So if all we currently know is that it "may possibly" be Clark's, then that's not certain enough to warrant inclusion. As soon as facts on the matter become known, they can be added.--Nalvage 00:05, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Possibility isn't really something "to know". As the saying goes "anything's possible". Wikipedia is based on verifibility. Readers don't need to know the fan speculation about a fictional character's "babydaddy". Besides, that would put Smallville into a Superman Returns-esq situation. [edit] Lois Lane

The differences of the Smallville Lana Lang to the others are noted, but not, what seems to me at least, the similarities of the Smallville Lana to Lois Lane (eg. Clark secretly liking her, not the other way around; the Dark complexion), as if the producers wanted to basically have a Lois Lane (Chloe Sullivan partly fulfills this role to, being a nosey reporter). - Matthew238 05:11, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Though they're both brunettes,—usually—Lois has always been a pale, skinny white chick. While there may be similarities, Wikipedia isn't in the business of publishing [|WP:OR|uncited data]]. 'Sides, I've always seen Smallville Lana as more of a unique creation based very loosely on the standard version. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 05:25, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:LanaLang.jpg

Image:LanaLang.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
