Lansing Symphony Orchestra

The Lansing Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is an American symphony orchestra headquartered in Lansing, Michigan. It was founded in 1929 under the leadership of its first music director, Izler Solomon. Since 2006 the orchestra has been headed by music director Timothy Muffitt.
As of 2007, the LSO performs 9 concerts a year at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts on the campus of Michigan State University. It also performs "Big Band" concerts at Dart Auditorium on the campus of Lansing Community College in downtown Lansing, Michigan and Chamber Concerts at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lansing, Michigan. Its broadcaster is WKAR-FM.
