The school is located in the far southwest corner of Baltimore County right near the Baltimore City line. It is at 3800 Hollins Ferry Road, Halethorpe, Maryland 21227, just west of Maryland Route 295, inside the Baltimore Beltway. It is just south of the Baltimore City neighborhoods of Lakeland and Westport, just north of the Anne Arundel County neighborhood of Linthicum/Linthicum Heights, just west of Arbutus in Baltimore County, and just east of Brooklyn/Brooklyn Park, in Baltimore City.
The school district for Lansdowne High School borders the districts of Catonsville High School[1] in Baltimore County and Southern High School, which is now known as Digital Harbor High School.[2] in Baltimore City.
[edit] Students
In the last 10 years, the graduation rate at Lansdowne High School has been on a general downward trend. it was as high as 94% in 1997 and as low as 72% in 2003.[3] The dropout rate is about 7%, a rate that is climbing.[4]
Though the student population has shown a slight increase in population over the past 15 years, but future growth should be negligible because of the school's location in an already densely populated portion of the metropolitan area.
