Lanka Lions Cricket Club (Abbreviation:Lanka Lions) is one of the newer clubs in Singapore cricket formed by a group of Singaporeans and expatriates of Sri Lankan origin. Lanka Lions was formed to participate in and promote sports, particularly Cricket.[2]
On debut in 2007, Lanka Lions won Singapore Cricket League Division 2 Championship in their very first year. Lanka Lions also had the distinction of being the only team, among 52 teams playing in the Singapore League, to remain unbeaten throughout the entire 2007 league season.[3]
In 2008 Lanka Lions fielded 2 teams in the Singapore league, including a Division 1 Team. They also won the SCA T20 Challenge tournament held in February 2008. [4]
