Major languages of Côte d'Ivoire include Baoulé, Dan, and Dioula. The official language is French, which was the colonial language.
Ethnologue lists 78 living languages including the above. Others with large numbers of speakers include Anyin, which is closely related to Baoulé, and Senufo. Dioula is also a common second language in the north; it is one of the Manding languages and especially close to Bambara.
