The Landwehrkanal is a canal in Berlin, Germany, built between 1845 and 1850 to plans by Peter Joseph Lenné[1].

It connects the upper part with the lower part of the river Spree, and flows through Charlottenburg, Tiergarten and Kreuzberg (main part). In Kreuzberg a long part of the Landwehrkanal is accompanied by the Berlin U-Bahn, which runs here as an elevated railway.

After she was murdered Rosa Luxemburg's body was dumped into the Landwehrkanal.
