The landsdeel (English translation: "country part") is the NUTS 1 statistical region in the Netherlands.[3] The Netherlands is divided into four landsdelen: Noord-Nederland, Oost-Nederland, West-Nederland, and Zuid-Nederland. Each of the landsdelen consists of two, three, or four provinces.[1] The average size of a landsdeel is 4.1 million inhabitants, where the population sizes range from 1.7 million to 7.7 million inhabitants.[2]
