Landing strip
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A landing strip is a type of hairstyle.
For women, a landing strip typically refers to a cultivated pubic hair pattern in which much of the pubic hair is removed, leaving only a central vertical line or rectangle. The landing strip may start from anywhere between natural pubic hairline to the top of the vulva, and typically ends at the bottom of the vulva, but may end at the top, if started closer to the natural hairline. For men, a landing strip may refer to a facial hair style, centered on the face, running from the lower lip to the bottom of the chin. It is similar to, but longer than, a soul patch. This meaning is less commonly known than the female pubic hairstyle.
A landing strip can also refer to a hairstyle for men and women in which a section of hair is buzzed with clippers in order to create a visible shaven patch between the main segment of hair and the bangs. This can be used in conjunction with other hairstyles, such as mohawks/deathhawks and is growing in popularity in the goth, deathrock and punk subcultures.
