Landed (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Landed are a noise rock band formed in Providence, RI in 1997 and have released albums on Load Records.
The band is today recognized for its strong influence on groups emerging from Providence in the late 90s [1], and has included members of Lightning Bolt, Six Finger Satellite, Men's Recovery Project, Olneyville Sound System, Mr. Brinkman/Meerk Puffy, Forcefield, Pleasurehorse, Pink and Brown, and Coachwhips, several of whom were also part of the Fort Thunder group of artists.
They are remembered for their intense live act. At one show, vocalist Dan St. Jacques set himself on fire backstage and ran into the audience at the beginning of the set. This performance can be seen as an easter egg on the Pick a Winner DVD available on Load Records with a menu item depicting St. Jacques' distinctive bearded visage.
Having recently reunited, the band is touring and plans to release a new record.
