Lance de Masi

Lance Edward de Masi (born 1949/1950)[1] is the current president of the American University in Dubai. Before joining the university, he served in management positions at BBDO Worldwide over more than two decades in the US, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, the UK and finally, Dubai[2], and became Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from June 1991 to March 1997. He served as Academic Dean from March 1997 to June 1997, and (at first interim) president of the university thereafter.[1]He is also the current president of the UAE chapter, the world's largest chapter[3] of the International Advertising Association.[4], and is Assistant Professor of Marketing Communications at the University. He received a B.A. from St. John Fisher College. In the mid-seventies he was an Associate Instructor at Indiana University (Bloomington), from which he received an M.A. and an M.B.A.(Marketing) in 1977. He holds a honorary Ph.D., awarded in 1997 by Schiller International University.[2][5]
