[edit] The Tech Department

The technology department offers many courses to students with different interests. The school offers five courses for the Project Lead the Way sequence, which is intended to prepare future engineering students for college and help them decide which type of engineering they would like to pursue. The department offers courses in other fields, such as computer graphics one and two, media productions, computer integrated manufacturing, basic electronics, computer science, architectural drafting, home repair and maintenance, and other courses. They also offer a new AP Computer Science program.

[edit] Sports

The School has many prominent sports teams, including Track and Field, Wrestling, Men and Woman's Volleyball, Baseball, Tennis, Lacrosse, Soccer, Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, Cross Country Running, Swimming, Basketball, Gymnastics, Bowling, and Wrestling. The athletics director is Mr. Jankiewicz. The football team's traditional rival is the Depew Wildcats. However, Depew is not in the same division as Lancaster, so the game Lancaster/Depew game is more for fun than league standing. This does not however dampen the homecoming week spirits. Many events happen during this week, including the historical "Bonfire" held at Lancaster High School. There is also a parade down Central Avenue in Lancaster in which students are invited to decorate their cars and drive to the game. Lancaster has an excellent volleyball program in both mens and womens. Both programs have brought home state titles in the past couple years. The Varsity hockey team has appeared in Super Sunday (The WNY Ice Hockey Championship) several times, and boast some of the best players in the WNY area.
