Lancashire Steel Corporation

The Lancashire Steel Corporation Ltd was a United Kingdom steel producer. The company was formed in 1930 by the amalgamation of a number of iron and steel interests, principally in the Manchester area[1]. It was absorbed into British Steel in 1967.

The main works were at Irlam[2].

The company was nationalised in 1951, becoming part of the Iron and Steel Corporation of Great Britain, was denationalised shortly afterwards, and renationalised in 1967.
