Talk:Lamia (Stardust)

You know I really don't think this article should be deleted. It's informative, it's well-written even if I do say so myself, it contains multiple topics covering a variety of subjects and it's backed up by quotations from the movie. Lamia is one of the three major characters in the film, the others being Tristan Thorne and Yvaine. If they deserve articles then Lamia certainly does. She's a fabulous villainess and I think people who've seen the film would be pleased to read an article about her. I should think Michelle Pfeiffer herself would quite enjoy it. - I don't think this character, nor the others, are notable enough for their own stand-alone articles. However, they certainly merit a section within the Stardust (novel), with these article titles redirecting to those sections. The text needs to be trimmed a bit, too. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 22:43, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
What makes you say that? Feel free to bask in my glow, who knows, you might get a tan! 23:48 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Individual characters rarely merit strand-alone articles. Generally speaking, only those characters associated with works that have achieved a high level of notability, and whose names are recognizable by a large portion of the general public, are notable enough for their own articles. I don't believe these characters meet that level of notability, but do merit individual sections within the main article(s). Here's a general rule of thumb: How likely is it that an average person will enter the character's name in the search box, as opposed to the name of the film/TV series/book? If the answer is "not likely," the character doesn't deserve his or her own article. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 09:53, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Maybe so but what makes you think the text should be trimmed a bit? Feel free to bask in my glow, who knows, you might get a tan! 11:33, 2 March 2008
- Well, it's just very "wordy" right now. If it is to be merged into the main article, it will need to be trimmed or else the main article will be very long. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 16:11, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

- Well in that case I think we should just keep it as it is. It's an informative article for people who want to read about the character and the film Stardust was a success so I should think they would. --Jupiter Optimus Maximus (talk) 17:19, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
