Talk:Lama Foundation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I wonder- does it matter if the title is Lama foundation instead of Lama Foundation? Is this all case-sensitive? Divb 14:59, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mission
What is the mission of the Lama Foundation? The article probably should state this. --ElectricEye 12:39, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Legitimacy of Article
I lived there from my birth (1969) until my father moved away about 7 years later. I've always heard that it's mission was "the search for spiritual truth" but in the fires that destroyed many of the building and caused the community to be reformed, that mission may have shifted a bit. While I agree not everywhere I've lived needs an entry in an encyclopedia, this one warrants and entry for a variety of reasons, not the least is that it was a notable place in the Southwest for people on a spiritual quest in the 60's and 70's.
With regards to the whole discussion here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Lama_Foundation I'm puzzled. The discussion seems to question the existence of this place or it's relevance in an Encyclopedia.
I can assure you that I and numerous other very real people lived there - in fact referred to as "lama beans" (a play I think on human being - aka human beans). Since it ended up being a keep, that's great, and thanks to the good folks who updated it - lots more could be added. My step-father and aunt actually founded the place - but how do you write that stuff up (information i get from them orally) and have it be "referenceable"?
