Lambda Lyrae (λ Lyr) is a 5th magnitude star in the constellation Lyra, approximately 1,500 light years away from Earth. It is an orange giant star of the spectral type K2.5III, meaning it has a surface temperature of 3,500 to 5,000 kelvins. It is much brighter and larger, yet cooler, than our Sun.[1]
