Lamar Middle School, named after Mirabeau B. Lamar, was founded in 1987. It is affiliated with the Lewisville Independent School district and houses grades six through eight. Prairie Trail Elementary School and Timber Creek Elementary School feed into Lamar, and Lamar feeds into Edward S. Marcus High School. Sports at Lamar include Football, Basketball, Soccer, and Track and Field for boys as well as Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, and Track and Field for girls. The ethnic breakdown of Lamar is 80% white, 9% Hispanic, 5% African American, and 6% other. Lamar is located on Timber Creek Road in Flower Mound across from Hilltop Park. The campus includes a football field with a track as well as gymnasium, cafeteria, and technology classrooms.
