This is a surname of a small Jatt Sikh community that’s from Punjab India. One of the pioneers from this community was Late S Amar Singh Lakhyan Engg, From Village Named Lakhnaur, Tehsil Mohali, and District Roopnagar. Born On November 12, 1947 Son Of Late S. Sarwan Singh Lakhyan and Mrs Bachan Kaur Lakhyan was single brother of 5 sisters. Amar Singh did his schooling for local community school and Khalsa School Kurali. His post secondary education was completed at DAV Collage Chandigarh and got himself into Guru Nanak Engg Collage, Ludhiana the premier Institute of engineering and technical studies in India. He got married to Jaspal Kaur in 1964 daughter of Bakhsish Singh Nagra. After completing his degree he started to work for Punjab State Electricity Board. Amar Singh had two sons named Kulbir S Lakhyan and Lakhbir Singh Lakhyan and a daughter Dr. Kuljeet Kaur Sidhu. After working for Punjab State Electricity Board for few years he went on deputation to BHAKRA BEAS MANAGEMENT BOARD, India’s Best Power generation organization as an operational Sub Divisional Officer. This point onwards He started to work with Electrical Protections Systems and become one of the best known person in this field too. From 1996 Amar Singh started to work on "Renovation, Modernization & Uprating of old Hydro Power Plants" where he did major work in tech design. Amar Singh Lakhyan in 2002 was diagnosed with NHL a type of blood cancer he fought his fight with cancer with help from his wife and coworkers for 3 years. during his illness he kept on working for the job he was a acquired by BHAKRA BEAS MANAGEMENT BOARD(BBMB).
