[edit] Ethiopian name

Is it called "Chamo Hayk" in Amharic? Badagnani 04:57, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Close enough, I believe. The Amharic word for lake can be transliterated "hayk", "hayq" & a number of other ways. Yom and MikeG were working on a standardized transliteration scheme for Wikipedia (I don't know what the status of it currently is), so either of them could give the best answer on how to actually spell the word. -- llywrch 19:43, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
