Lakita Garth

Lakita Garth is an American advocate of Sexual abstinence, and former beauty queen.

She has addressed millions of teenagers through motivational assemblies across the United States and internationally. Lakita has testified before the U.S. Surgeon General and the U.S. Senate on teen pregnancy prevention. She serves on the executive board of the National Abstinence Clearinghouse. Ms. Garth consulted and hosted UPN's Emmy-nominated show "The Truth About Sex."

Garth is also a speaker on various issues like race relations, politics, feminism, and the impact of media on adolescent behavior. She has been a voting member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and is an executive board member of The Christian Film & Television Commission in Los Angeles.

Garth, is an alumna of the University of Southern California and a former Miss Black California, having won the title in 1995. She has appeared in numerous commercials and television shows including MTV, BET, The View, and Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect. She has been featured in several magazines including People, Essence, Seventeen, Vogue, Gospel Today and Charisma. In 2007, she authored "The Naked Truth (About Sex, Love, and Relationships)."
