Lakeshore Mall is a regional, enclosed shopping mall located in Sebring, Florida, United States. Opened in 1992, it is the only regional mall in the six-county Florida Heartland region, and serves the region's 250,000 residents.[citation needed] Lakeshore Mall comprises 495,972 square feet (46,077 m²) of retail space, including five anchor stores: Belk, J.C. Penney, Kmart, Bealls and Sears (which was added in 1999).[1] The mall also features more than sixty-five stores, as well as a food court and movie theater. In late 2007, the mall took the unusual step of requiring all high-school aged and younger youths to leave the property by 9pm.[2]
The drawing power of the Mall has attracted the attention of other retail builders. Plaza By The Mall has been built on an adjoining property attempting to cash in on some of the recognition.[3]
