Lakelands (32°29′S, 115°46′E) is a suburb of Mandurah, located 65km south of the City of Perth. Its postcode is 6180.

Lakelands is the northern most suburb of Mandurah and bordering at the northern point to the Rockingham district.

Around March 2007 Lakelands received the new 6180 postcode previously sharing Mandurah's 6210 postcode. It shares the 6180 postcode with Parklands. See http://www1.auspost.com.au/postcodes/ for more Australian postcode info.

The Lakelands Estate is being developed by Peet Limited [1] and is expected to comprise 2500 lots when completed.

Black Swan and Paganoni Lakes are planned to become a focal point of the estate with walking tracks and landscape works in progress.

Mandurah Baptist College is located at Lakelands and was opened in 2005 with Mandurah Primary and Senior High Schools due to start construction in 2008.

To the south of Lakelands is Meadow Springs. The western side is bounded by an overburdened highway separating Lakelands from Madora Bay and the Western beaches. Like many of Mandurahs suburbs there are hardly any footpaths available forcing pedestrians to walk on the road.

The eastern side is currently bounded by the new Perth Mandurah train line but future extensions of Lakelands will see it grow to the eastern side of this line. Land has been reserved for a future Lakelands train station.

Block sizes are around 500mtrsq. The nearest shopping area is just south about 2-3min drive in Meadow Springs with a future planned shopping area to be constructed in Lakelands on Fremantle Road in the future.

No wireless broadband suppliers operate here as at March 2007 and the local telephone exchange does so far not have any ADSL2+ capability. There is an underground coaxial cable TV and Internet service to all blocks which is provided by eWire [2]

Driving to Perth from Lakelands before 05:30hrs takes about 1hr but any later can take much longer due to overloaded road system and unfinished train service. End 2007 the new train line is expected to operate and scheduled to take around 50min for the Mandurah to Perth trip.

The earliest bus service to Perth is via Transperth 867. It leaves Mandurah Rd/Madora Beach Rd at 05:38 and will arrive Perth central 06:47.
