Lakeland FM

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lakeland FM was a radio station in Taupo originally known as Radio Lakeland. In 1996 the Community Radio Network was formed and the Lakeland FM studios were used to feed network shows outside of breakfast to other stations that were part of the Community Radio Network.

In 2001 all Community Radio Network stations became part of the Classic Hits FM network with programming outside of the breakfast show based from Auckland. At this point the station became known as Classic Hits Lakeland FM.

The station broadcasts on 96.7FM in Taupo. For a time, it was also heard in Turangi on 89.6, and later on 92.4FM. However, the Turangi relay was dropped in the mid 1990s.
