Lake Township is a township in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 4,361 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 29.8 square miles (77.2 km²), of which, 28.1 square miles (72.8 km²) of it is land and 1.7 square miles (4.5 km²) of it (5.80%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 4,361 people, 1,632 households, and 1,238 families residing in the township. The population density was 155.2 people per square mile (59.9/km²). There were 3,524 housing units at an average density of 125.4/sq mi (48.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.13% White, 1.61% African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.18% Asian, 0.37% from other races, and 0.60% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.58% of the population.
There were 1,632 households out of which 30.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.7% were married couples living together, 8.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.1% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 2.96.
In the township the population was spread out with 23.3% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 25.7% from 45 to 64, and 18.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.1 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $33,887, and the median income for a family was $37,821. Males had a median income of $29,609 versus $21,406 for females. The per capita income for the township was $16,274. About 8.7% of families and 10.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 13.8% of those under age 18 and 12.8% of those age 65 or over.
