Lake Shore is a census-designated place and an unincorporated community within Pasadena, Maryland, which in turn is in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The population was 13,065 at the 2000 census.

Lake Shore is located at 39°5′56″N, 76°28′54″W (39.098960, -76.481717)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 14.3 square miles (37.0 km²), of which, 9.9 square miles (25.7 km²) of it is land and 4.4 square miles (11.3 km²) of it (30.53%) is water.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 13,065 people, 4,581 households, and 3,783 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,317.0 people per square mile (508.5/km²). There were 4,784 housing units at an average density of 482.2/sq mi (186.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.13% White, 1.67% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.73% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, and 0.93% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.83% of the population.

There were 4,581 households out of which 34.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.7% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.4% were non-families. 13.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.85 and the average family size was 3.12.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 24.3% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 30.9% from 45 to 64, and 10.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 102.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.5 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $66,700, and the median income for a family was $70,722. Males had a median income of $46,073 versus $32,173 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $26,553. About 2.3% of families and 3.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.0% of those under age 18 and 5.8% of those age 65 or over.
