Lake Placid Handicap

The Lake Placid Handicap is a race for Thoroughbred horses run at a distance of one and one-eighths miles on the turf at Saratoga Race Course. The race is open to three year old fillies and carries a purse of $150,000. The race is a Grade II event.
The Lake Placid, formerly run as the Nijana, was run in two divisions in 1988, 1991, 1992, and 1994. Run on the main track at a mile and an eighth in 1990, it's in its 25th running in 2008.
