The Laks are an Iranian ethnic group in southwestern Iran. They speak Laki (or Lekí), which according to the Ethnologue is a branch of Kurdish. According to the Encyclopaedia of Islam the Laks are "the most southern group of Kurd tribes in Persia." The Laks are primarily concentrated in the provinces of Lorestan, Ilam,Kermanshah and Khuzestan.
The Laks population of about 1,000,000 includes 10,000 Nahavand Lurs.[1]
