Laives (Italian: Laives; German: Leifers; Archaic (1404 AD): Leiffers; Archaic (1295 AD): Livers; Latin: Clivus) is a town and a comune (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 45 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 8 km south of the city of Bolzano. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 15,664 and an area of 24.3 km².[1]
The municipality of Laives contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Pineta, La Costa and San Giacomo.
Laives borders the following municipalities: Bolzano, Bronzolo, Deutschnofen and Vadena.
