Lagan (Russian: Лагань) is a town in the southeastern part of the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, a few kilometers from the Caspian Sea. Population: 14,345 (2002 Census). It is located at 45°23′27″N, 47°21′57″E. It was founded in 1870. Town status granted in 1963. Until 1991 it was known as Kaspiysky.
