Lady Barn House School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lady Barn House School is a primary school on Schools Lane in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, (previously in Cheshire before the county boundaries were changed). It was originally in Fallowfield, but moved to its present location in the 1950s.
Pupils typically go on to enter the grammar schools in the region. Around half of the boys are accepted at Manchester Grammar School. The school is not strictly denominational but retains a Christian element in its assemblies and that during singing lessons it is predominantly hymns that are sung.
The school has four houses used in sporting events (largely the annual swimming races and sports day). They include Bonner and Hereford, and are named after school founders.
The school colours are blue and yellow. Recently a new building was built, mainly for the use of the preschool department. The headmistress is currently Mrs Yule.
