[edit] Early life
Turner graduated from Newington College in 2005 to represent Australia at u/19 level, and made his Waratahs debut against QLD in the 2006 APC.
[edit] Career
Turner plays club rugby for Eastwood and usually plays as a winger. In 2006 Turner became the first person to take out the Chris Whitaker Aspiring Waratah Award for the most outstanding player in the NSW Waratah Academy. He established himself in the Waratahs first team during the disappointing 2007 season. The highlight of the season for Turner came during the clash against the Crusaders at Aussie Stadium when he scored a solo try from his own half, beating several defenders for pace.
Turner capped off the 2007 Super 14 season by being named Rookie of the Year. On May 25 2007, after a stellar Super 14 season, he made his debut for Australia A against Tonga at Aussie Stadium in Sydney. He scored three tries in a man-of-the-match debut performance. After this performance many commentators expected him to be included in the Wallabies 2007 Rugby World Cup squad. [1]
In December 2007 Turner signed a new contract with the NSW Waratahs which will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2011 campaign.
