[edit] Pure science
It really is remarkable the number of users of Wikipedia who feel the need to make their first and only edit to add a link to an obscure website to the pure science article and reinsert text with the exact same conclusion as that added by the previous user. May I stress that sockpuppets are not welcome on Wikpedia.
Wikipedia:External links should be very helpful on the topic of which external links should be added to an article, and which should not. Please note that your site does not meet any of the criteria for "What should be linked to" and falls under point 3 and point 9 of "Links normally to be avoided". In addition to these points and its low Alexa ranking, it is also unsuitable because it is limited to medical literature.
Any constructive edits to the article are very welcome. Warofdreams talk 20:50, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'd certainly be interested in seeing that thread on Google Groups. A search hasn't turned anything up. I removed the other sentence you added as it was an unsourced opinion. Perhaps if your site was a useful reference for something in the article, it'd be valid to add it, but as it is, there is no reason to append it to this article. - Perhaps you would be good enough to provide a link to the thread. Of course pure science can be reported in medical journals, just as it can be reported in any kind of journal. Basic science seems to be essentially a synonym, but one used particularly in medicine. However, medical journals are clearly primarily concerned with medicine, which is an applied science. - I'm sorry, I really don't see the relevance of this. I've made absolutely no claim to be an expert on pure science, and clearly you are no expert on it either. The relevant point is Wikipedia's policy on links. If you disagree with the policy, you should debate it there. Warofdreams talk 13:25, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
