Talk:Labour Party Constitution
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I am pretty sure there is no copyright on this. I have it from a source that is not web based - i.e. the rule book itself, and that is not under copyright. Wikidea 16:18, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- The absence of a copyright notice on a work does not necessarily mean that the work is not protected by copyright. Under US copyright law, almost all works published since 1922 (with some exceptions) have an active copyright; see WP:CP and WP:NFC for fuller details. Judging by the wording of Clause IV, this version of the constitution must date from at least 1995 if not more recently, and as such it wouldn't automatically be in the public domain due to age. Can you provide any proof that the Labour Party HQ does not hold copyright in this work? As an aside, such static source texts as this are not generally suitable for Wikipedia and would be more appropriately housed at Wikisource. --Kwekubo 16:41, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
