Labour India Gurukulam Public School and Junior College is a residential school offering an inspiring learning experience from Pre-Kindergarten to Junior College. The school children with the tools to master exact academic confront including all Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus, and the school focusing to help students to tackle broader challenges beyond the textbook. Students learn individual integrity as they develop their skills to deal with real life experiences. The students are encouraged to do everything on their own, to try (trial and error) new things, to explore new worlds, to learn from nature, to share generously and to lead a value-added life. The school is literally a "home away from home".School system integrates an active sports schedule and community service.
According to ancient Vedic traditions, the word "Guru" means teacher and "Gurukulam" refer "family of the teacher", referring to a residential center (often found in deep jungles) for learning with the Teacher. In a Vedic school of learning, a teacher guides students in their daily life, mentoring and motivating their pursuit of inner brilliance and personal growth with the ultimate goal of enabling them to shape their future.
Labour India Gurukulam Public School and Junior College was founded by Mr. V. J. George Kulangara in 1993. The School is owned by the registered Labour India Educational Society, Marangattupilly, Kottayam and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi. The school located in an ancient historic hills recently renamed to Labour India Hills in Marangattupilly.
Labour India Public School, won the overall title for the sixth consecutive time in the 12th CBSE National athletic championship which concluded at the Maharaja’s College Stadium on 8 January 2008.
The school has branches in Wagamon (International Gurukulam School), Kerala and West Virginia, USA (Bluefield International Academy)
