Hi, and welcome to my user page! I am a pianista, previously known as "MusicalConnoisseur," changed for obvious reasons (proof). I'm also a classical music fanatic (and really proud of it), though my friends think it's a real oddity. In fact, they think I'm weird, because I don't rock and I can't rap. Nor do I "dig" other "cool" stuff, like Myspace or Facebook - not for snotty, snobby reasons, but just because I spend way too much time on Wikipedia, anyway. :-P
But I don't mind because I've found my niche.
I am a proud WikiGnome (and WikiFairy, if I can be both), and my favorite Wiki-pastime is sprucing up any random page, tweaking little things here and there to make otherwise horrendous pages look Wiki-ready. I also participate in PR's in the nick of time (saving them from the clutches of backlog, yahoo!). For the rest of the time, I contribute to the Language, Humanities, and sometimes Miscellaneous reference desks. Above all, I love biting the bee-hinds of vandals.
In my spare time (excluding Wikipedia editing, obviously), I read. I immerse myself in Hawthorne, Dickens, Austen, and O. Henry. And a little Shakespeare, too, when I feel like it. Also, I play my spinet (oh, how I wish for a grand piano!) in between. When I'm doing neither, I listen to this, this, and especially this.
~~Favorite Pieces~~ |

- All of the nocturnes, études, polonaises, and waltzes by Frédéric Chopin

- The Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach
- The Well-Tempered Clavier, also by J.S. Bach
- Anything and everything played by Daniel Barenboim (confessed fan)
- The Enigma Variations by Sir Edward Elgar (Read the article; it's really interesting)
- The famous Fifth Symphony by Ludwig Beethoven
- The equally famous Ninth Symphony by genius incarnate, van Beethoven
- The five- movement Symphony Fantastique by Hector Berlioz.
