This article has been rated as Low-importance on the priority scale.
This article needs an image (preferably free) related to the subject, such as a picture of the set or a film poster. A possibility for American films from before 1964 would be a screenshot from the trailer, as these are now in the public domain. Please make sure fair use is properly observed, or the image will be removed. See WP:Films MOS for image guidelines and assistance in uploading.
Maintenance A plot summary needs to be added to this film article, or the current one needs to be expanded.
Maintenance Please add more information about the cast and the crew, discussing the "behind the scenes" aspects of the production process, and giving insights into the casting and staffing where possible. See also Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Style guidelines for more advice.

[edit] Name Change

This article should not be called La Vie en Rose. As the introductory sentence makes clear, this is just the American name for the movie. Wikipedia is not an American encyclopedia; it should not take as it's default the American names for movies when these differ from the names used elsewhere in the English-speaking world. BTW, I'm American, so this has nothing to do with nationalism or anti-Americanism. If it happens that La Vie en Rose is the name used around the world for releases in English-language areas, then the title is acceptable. If, however, it simply happens to be the name used in the USA or a handfull of other countries, the article should be redirect to La Môme. Interlingua talk email 14:45, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree. I wonder if it perhaps confuses some people that both the original French title and the 'English language' title are both in French? Anyway, the article should be called La Mome and it should be a redirect from 'La Vie En Rose'.86.141.145.124 15:59, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
I also agree. It weakens the integrity of this site to leave it the way it is, simply for the sake of ease. Lost kafei 21:51, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
I was wondering what a "môme" is ? Google translates it as 'walker'. --195.137.93.171 (talk) 11:24, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
In the movie it was usually translated as "the kid." Louis Leplée nicknamed her "La Môme Piaf," or kid sparrow (due to her short stature). And, by the way, I agree that the article should be moved to "La Môme (film)" and this page should be redirected to it. Hashashin (talk) 06:26, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] This article took its plot summary directly from the trailer.

This plot summary is just an ad.

I have substituted it with a very sketchy and brief plot summary, just to get rid of the paragraph which, as you pointed out, is lifted directly from an advert, and of little substance. It is quite a hard movie to give a plot summary of given the nature of its narrative, which jumps about all over the place. I would be glad for anyone to try and flesh it out a bit if need be.86.141.145.124 15:56, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of "needs infobox" tag

This article has had its infobox tag removed by a cleanup using AWB. Any concerns please leave me a message at my talk page. RWardy 20:59, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Lavie finalkeyart.jpg

Image:Lavie finalkeyart.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Amy Winehouse?

There is a part in the film, the scene after Louis Leplee invite Piaf to audition in his cabaret on the street and before Albert extorts money from Piaf, where a performer who looks an awful lot like Amy Winehouse sings a song. Can anyone clear this up? Does Mrs. Winehouse have a cameo role in the film and what was the song that was sung?

UPDATE: The song is apparently called "Fascination" and sung by Maya Barsoni. Does anyone know the name of the actor?

202.65.191.138 (talk) 08:35, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

UPDATE: The actor is Maya Barsoni. Not Amy Winehouse. Both performers look similar.
