To-do list for La Seo Cathedral:
  • En 1346 se comienza un cimborrio mudéjar para dar luz a la cabecera.... How should cabecera be translated? Ceiling?
  • En la Seo residirían 6 dignidades y 15 canónigos.... Dignidad seems to refer to some kind of honorary officeholder or recipient of a stipend. I've used the somewhat arcane 'prebendary' for now.
  • ...añadiendo dos tramos completos a los pies. Which part of the cathedral does pies refer to?
  • ...adornados con el llamado ajedrezado jaqués en el exterior... What is ajedrezado jaqués?
  • ...con ventanucos entre capiteles historiados.. historiado can mean 'containing a history' or 'the subject of a history'. I'm voting for the former, to be translated as 'inscribed'. Comments?
  • ..nueve ejecutados, en persona... Hmm, "executed, in person"? What does en persona signify?

[edit] Translation complete?

I think I finished most of the Spanish to English translation on this article. See anything else that needs to be translated? Moe ε 21:32, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

  • En 1346 se comienza un cimborrio mudéjar para dar luz a la cabecera.... How should cabecera be translated? Ceiling?
--> Cabecera is the part where the altar is.
  • ...añadiendo dos tramos completos a los pies. Which part of the cathedral does pies refer to?
--> Piés is the part where you usually get in, the other extreme of the cabecera.
  • ...adornados con el llamado ajedrezado jaqués en el exterior... What is ajedrezado jaqués?
--> Ajedrezado jaqués is a checkered pattern used in the Middle Ages. You can see ajedrezado jaqués on the image on the right. More examples in:

  • ..nueve ejecutados, en persona... Hmm, "executed, in person"? What does en persona signify?
--> people could be executed in persona or in absentia: in case the person was dead or had fled, a straw puppet was burnt instead.
  • ejecutados, en persona: it can be make by the proper one master, not the assistant.

[edit] The Luna Family

This ones are bastard descents from King Fernando el Catolico. They were "birreyes de Aragón". Many are buried in La Seo. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Anselmocisneros (talkcontribs) 00:36, 16 January 2007 (UTC).
