La Job was a good article nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There are suggestions below for improving the article. Once these are addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

[edit] Just wait until it comes out

This is basically an auto-fail due to it's inherent instability. The article will be grossly out of date very soon and GAs are meant to be stable, which means that if we were to lock the article now that the information present would still be useful and correct a year from now, which it won't. Of course, there's also instability that goes with in-progress TV shows, but much less so. October isn't that long to wait for, and there will be lots of information that will need to be added then. I suggest renomination then. --SeizureDog 03:04, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sort key

Should "La Job" be alphabetized under L or J? Not sure of the standards for alphabetizing non-English phrases in the English edition of Wikipedia. SnappingTurtle 13:40, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

I cannot find specific guidelines for it on the English Wikipedia but I have also made a search and I can confirm that all the articles I surveyed for which putting "La" second could be applicable used the ", La" trick. Those articles are: La Marseillaise, La Francophonie, La bohème and La Salette. --Liberlogos 16:00, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gervais's father not of Québécois descent

Be correct please. He is of French Canadian descent because this is what french-speaking Canadians called themselves at the time Gervais senior chose to remain in the UK, in the 1940s. We all called ourselves that. I know you don't like it and I'm sorry about that, but please write what is, not what ought to be. Vincent 01:11, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
